WELCOME TO THE WILLOW TREE
As we approach our 14th year at The Willow Tree, it is with sadness that we have made the decision to cease our remaining takeaway service from the end of service this Saturday 26th September. Whilst a pandemic at some point was predicted we could never have planned for the effect it has had on our family business.
We had already taken steps to prepare ourselves for our retirement from the trade at a future date, a global pandemic was not foreseen by us and the situation we find ourselves in was never part of the plan. It is regretful that our exit from the trade has occurred in this way with no opportunity to say thank you and goodbye properly to you all.
We take with us wonderful memories of good times at The Willow Tree. Over the years we have enjoyed a place as the number 1 restaurant in Newark on TripAdvisor, a 5-star hygiene rating, raised thousands of pounds for charity and provided a service to our community. We have shared life moments with people, hosted weddings, funeral wakes, engagement celebrations, joined you in sharing your joy at the birth of a child and you have shared ours too. We are devastated that for the foreseeable future we are unable to continue sharing these special times with you all.
To our regular customers, thank you for your support and friendship. To our not so regular customers we enjoyed hosting you all.
To our team, you really are the best. Beautiful, special, kind people, family who we hope will continue to make us smile and be a part of our lives.
Best wishes to you all and stay safe.
Kathryn and Brett
Information on how we will continue to operate until Saturday 26th September 2020.
We have made the difficult decision to pause. The Willow Tree will continue to remain closed to the public until further notice.
Our takeaway service will continue on a Friday and Saturday evening. Please do support us.
Our current hot food takeaway menu is subject to availability and can be found on our webpage by clicking on OUR MENU.
We have a collection method which means that no one will come into contact with anyone else by following this process.
Please call us Monday to Saturday on Tel:01636629003 to place your order. You must advise us of any allergies at this time.
We will take payment by credit or debit card over the telephone having confirmed availability of your menu choices.
You can collect your food during the hours of 5pm and 7pm on a Friday and Saturday. We will agree a time for collection when you place your order. We will be unable to answer any phone calls during our Friday and Saturday evening collection window (5 to 7pm) As we will be cooking and dealing with visitors during that time.
All collections will take place at our rear entrance. This is in the courtyard just off of our carparking area.
Please enter the courtyard and ring the door bell at our back door.
You may wait for assistance either in the shelter or by the glass topped door at our rear entrance.
When you food is ready we will deliver it to the table in our rear porch ready for you to collect.
Please DO NOT enter the porch area until our team member has safely retreated behind the internal door and it has shut. We will signal to you that you may enter to collect your food.
Once you have left the porchway we will enter to sanitize the area, touch points, door bell and handles ready to welcome our next customer.
If another customer is already in our courtyard waiting for their food, please do not enter until they have left and we have completed our cleaning process. You may wait in our car park until this has been completed. Whilst we appreciate the early arrival of our customers please be aware that early or late arrivals put others at risk.
To keep us all safe we would appreciate your co-operation.
It is very important that we only provide takeaway food within current government guidelines and we will update this page should anything change. Stay Alert! Stay Safe!
We are counting on your support, thank you for your support and hope that you enjoy your meal!
Originally a small farmhouse and barn, and thought to have been built in 1738, The Willow Tree has been a public house since Thomas Grocock became a 'beer-house keeper' here in the 1870s.
Today at The Willow Tree our aim is to provide locals and visitors from near & far with well-kept, traditional English cask ales - brewed on the premises, chilled draught beers, fine wines from around the world and good-quality, freshly prepared food, served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We care about the quality and the provenance of the food and drinks that we serve. In our menu you will find an explanation of where much of our produce comes from and of our general philosophy of using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients while supporting local producers and suppliers.
Local steaks are our speciality - with three different cuts to choose from it's always "steak night" at The Willow Tree.
We're open Wednesday to Saturday evenings from 6:30pm (5:30pm on Fridays) and Sunday lunch from 12-2pm. Food is served in every session except Sunday evening when we open at 7pm for our very popular, challenging and entertaining quiz night.
The Willow Tree is a small, independent, family-owned and family-run pub. We look forward to welcoming you and really hope that you enjoy your time with us.
